Jetpack Workflow Product Updates (August & September 2024)
Typically each month we will be sharing a quick product update on Jetpack Workflow. However, the last two months our team was focused on building some bigger features, so this update will combine both August and September together.
What you’ll find in this content can be things like product improvements, new feature releases, what is on the upcoming roadmap, and anything else that is relevant to your accounting workflow success.
We often get busy behind the scenes of the product that we don’t get to share publicly about all the cool things our team is working on. But we intend to change that and ensure everyone has more visibility into the product enhancements going forward.
So let’s kick it off with a recap of what we updated and launched these last two months.
Budgeted Time + Planning
We’ve recently released the option to add budgeted time to tasks! You can now do that on an individual project task, a template task, and a series task.
Those will follow the change propagation rule, meaning that task associated with that template and/or series will get that budgeted time value. With these values, you will be able to evaluate your current team members capacity.
And you’ve probably noticed the new tab called “Planning” where Level 3 and Level 2 users can look at their whole team and see the sum of budgeted time per week.
Just FYI: The Planning tab has a BETA label because we will be continuing to refine it more.
Capacity Planning Monthly Visual, Client Drill Down, and Filters
We’ve been excited about our expansion of the capacity planning features. Here’s a recap of what’s new:
- Users can now expand staff to see how that staff member’s time distributed among clients by clicking anywhere within that staff member’s row.
- Each client for which a staff member has a task assigned will have its own row beneath the staff member.
- The weekly budgeted time for that staff member’s tasks will be displayed, with the totals for each client shown in the totals column of the table.
- Users can continue to navigate forward and backward in time, keeping specific team members expanded to help them visualize how staff member’s allocation changes over time, per client.
- Unassigned tasks are also broken down by client.
Filters:
- Users can now filter their capacity planning table by specific staff, to help them focus on specific team members’ capacities for the 5 week period.
- Users can also filter their capacity planning table by a specific client or clients so that they can more easily see how much total work is assigned to specific clients in the 5 week period.
Combined, these options will allow you a more powerful view into how your team’s time is allocated among clients.
