Hi there!

Each month we will be sharing a quick product update on Jetpack Workflow.

What you’ll find in this content can be things like product improvements, new feature releases, what is on the upcoming roadmap, and anything else that is relevant to your accounting workflow success.

We often get busy behind the scenes of the product that we don’t get to share publicly about all the cool things our team is working on. But we intend to change that and ensure everyone has more visibility into the product enhancements.

So let’s kick it off with a recap of what we launched in May 2024.

Updates to “Projects” Area of Jetpack Workflow

A big focus this last month was improving and updating the “Projects” area of Jetpack Workflow. There were a few changes, which we’ll highlight below.

New columns added.

  • Project assignee
  • Next assignee (it’s the person assigned to the NEXT task inside that project)
  • Last edit (the last time someone did anything inside the project, including changes from templates/repeating project that affected it)

All the new columns can be filtered.

  • Since we have 3 filters now around users, we added a prefix on the breadcrumbs so you will know better which filter is currently applied.

Edit columns

Users can now show/hide columns.

  • Given the fact that we now have several columns to be displayed, we allow you to select only the ones you care about at a given moment. This setting will be saved for the next time you visit the projects table. Another thing to note is that you can still filter by hidden columns.

Some UI changes of how we display info in the table.

  • The blocked tasks count/flag is not a column anymore. It’s just an icon next to the projects’ name. Users can filter by projects that have blocked tasks.

Flag feature on project tasks.

  • Repeating projects have their icon moved from the beginning of the project name to the due date label. This change also affects how tasks’ due dates are shown in other places too.
  • More accurate “Last Edited” updates at the bottom of the show page for project’s, templates and series.

Projects area.

We are now enforcing every task in the system to have a due date and every template and series task to have a ‘days before due date’.

Permission Settings

We released some updates that give Level 1/Assigned Access users more abilities. They can now:

  • Create projects
  • Edit projects that they’re associated with
  • Add tasks to projects that they’re associated with
  • View repeating projects that they’re associated with
  • Edit repeating projects that they’re associated with
  • Add tasks to repeating projects that they’re associated with

Additionally, we also expanded what it means to be “associated with” a project or repeating project to include the default project assignee.

That’s it for this update. Stay tuned for more updates soon.
